Simple Burger Recipe

The sun is finally here and the BBQ season is about to start.  Not sure how long the good weather will last for, so we’re going to make the most of it!

If you are having a BBQ or even just eating in, we’d thought we’d share this simple burger recipe we use a lot at home.

Ingredients (makes 12):

  • 750g lean mince
  • 1 large onion
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 1 egg yolk
  • Handful of chopped parsley
  • 2 teaspoons of English mustard
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Step 1:

Chop the onion, garlic, parsley and add to a mixing bowl.  Then add the mince, mustard, egg yolk and season with salt & pepper.  Mix the ingredients by hand. 

Step 2:

Take a handful of the mixed ingredients and roll it into a ball.  Then on a floured board, pat the ingredients into burger (patty) shape.  Place on a tray ready for the BBQ or grill.

Step 3:
Now simply BBQ or grill the burgers (patties) until they are cooked through.  Timings depend on your equipment and the thickness of your burgers/ patties.

You could also add a little bit if heat with red chopped chilli, should you wish to and possibly some grilled Halloumi with the cooked burger.

For a BBQ, we tend to serve with salad, pasta and pesto.
